Season's Greetings

Hello Everyone,

the new season is now upon us, the fear and the enjoyment are soon again to be thrust upon us, in equal measure. I have just done an interview with a local newspaper about the book and I have also had a nice review from the on line coaching site Each Game As It Comes. Check them out, it's a great source of information for coaches providing really interesting information on coaching practices with diagrams, patterns of play and age relevant specifics, done in a really easy and concise manner. Have a look for yourselves www.eachgameasitcomes.com

The team I coach, Signol Athletic have had a strange start to the season. Oddly the league drew the same league opponents up on consecutive weeks. On the opening fixture of the season we played away at the Mike Doyle Centre in Manchester, drawing 4-4 with Reddish, in a game that we really, should have won. A week later we played the same team at home and lost 5-0, and didn't look like half the team we put out the week before. A head scratcher for sure.

Lastly, I announced last week that I would be running the Manchester half marathon to raise £500 to buy rain jackets for the lads. I have been absolutely blown away by the generosity shown by people and I am honoured to say that the target has been achieved, and the coats are being ordered next week.

Just need to get my running shoes on now !
